It’s been a hot and sticky week, and the weather doesn’t help for a good working environment. I love working from home, but when the weather is like this, I do miss an office with AC.
Work:
Spent a few days looking at Microsoft Fabric and what is involved in setting up workspaces, lakehouses, etc. After setting up an initial PoC to play with, I have to say I'm not a fan. The interface is not very intuitive, and the documentation is lacking in any real substance. It doesn’t help that the recent redundancies at Microsoft are holding up access to a specialist to chat to.
I spun up a new technical stack and environment stack for the migration as the process continues.
Completed some SFTP server testing as a contingency if the business does not want to use the service I have deployed.
Not work:
Kettles x2, Corex4, Grease The Groove x2
I managed to get out early to the allotment for some watering and harvesting.
Also went out for an early walk along the river.
Generally, it’s too hot for any real activity, so I spent my weekend in the shade doing creative things like writing and drawing.
What I read:
I'm being paid to fix issues caused by AI
What I listened to:
Head buried in BBC Sounds and Spotify playlists.
