A week of pottering with little annoying things.
Work:
Spent a morning researching and updating the Terraform workspace versions and Azure and Mongo providers we use. I don't like to let things like this drift too much.
Spent time working with Microsoft support trying to resolve issues with some private endpoints. Their support truly is awful.
More time-consuming work to build up some more virtual machines. I hate working on servers where all sorts of shite are required. Nothing ever goes as it should.
Not work:
At the start of the week, an old sciatica injury started playing up, which sidelined any fitness plans. On the plus side, my shoulder seems to be better.
Nearing the end of the kitchen project. This has been a painful experience and not one I would repeat, nor recommend.
Managed to get out on Sunday and explored a new area of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Spent a few hours with friends walking around Llangors, checking out the history of the area, and generally enjoying the fine spell of weather.
What I read:
From RAG to Riches — How NatWest Group is using GenAI to unlock knowledge across the organisation
The Trading Game: A Confession - Gary Stevenson
What I listened to:
Head buried in BBC Sounds and Spotify playlists.
I do have some new podcasts to get lost in, but it’s difficult to find the time as I can’t listen to them during work hours (hence the music)
I’m also enjoying Adam Buxton’s new audiobook, his second set of memoirs.
